What you should absolutely know about Las Vegas

City highlights, food & drinks, expressions, weather, how to get there and how to get around

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. That’s because there is so much to do in Las Vegas! During your Las Vegas day trips, make sure you get a taste of everything “Sin City” has to offer. Wander through Fremont Street, watching free concerts, shopping, and sightseeing. Conquer your fear of heights at SkyJump Las Vegas or enjoy a sunset gondola ride through the Las Vegas strip. Try your hand at poker at a world-renowned casino or dance the night away at a luxurious nightclub. From world-class entertainment to celebrity-style dining, Vegas has it all

You can’t leave Vegas without taking a photo at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada” sign or watching the amazing Bellagio Fountain show. Play a hand of Blackjack high above the city lights at the Stratosphere or see a Caesars Palace show

Vegas is a foodie’s paradise. From fancy restaurants to roaming food trucks, Vegas has something to satisfy even the pickiest of taste buds. Savor juicy steak or shrimp for a high-class dinner or visit a café for a tasty sandwich

Las Vegas is referred to as “Sin City” and if you hear people talking about “The Strip”, they mean the tourist trap area lined with hotels, casinos, and nightclubs. The “Glitter Gulch” refers to the historic downtown area around Fremont Street

In Las Vegas, it rarely rains. Summer brings hot sunny weather, with temperatures up to 106 degrees. Fall brings little relief with highs in the 80s. Winter cools off the desert with 50 to 60 degree weather and spring sees temperatures in the upper 60s

Shuttle from the airport to The Strip cost $10. Take the monorail from the airport and pay $35 for a 10-ride pass. Ride the double-decked Deuce bus and buy a three-day pass for $20.  The WAX bus will take you into the city center for $2

The Las Vegas Strip has many attractions close together, so it is easy to walk. Take a cab or bus to explore the downtown area or take a free shuttle from the casino. Riding the trolley is another fun way to get around the city
