Spend some time in Vienna, the capital of Austria, and embrace its rich intellectual and cultural past. During your Vienna day trips, learn about the many famous residents that once called Vienna home. From Mozart and Beethoven to Sigmund Freud, the city of Vienna is dripping with inspiration, culture, and history. See a world-famous opera at the Theater an der Wien or the Staatsoper. Manuever around the Museums Quartier district to catch a glimpse of historic and contemporary buildings or wonder at the Imperial Palace. Explore the city’s many quiet secluded corners or embrace the lively food and nightlife scene

On your trip to Vienna, make sure to stop by St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the House of Music, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Take photos of the grandiose Schonbrunn Palace and wander around Naschmarkt, taking in the local sights and smells

Indulge in warm cinnamon Apfelstrudel topped with powdered sugar and a nice cup of coffee. Wiener Schnitzel is a Vienna staple and made from veal that is served with lemon and potatoes. Don’t leave Vienna without eating tafelspitz too

To greet someone, say “Grüß Gott” (pronounced GrEWs gatt) and “See you later” is “Bis bald”. “Excuse me” is “Entschuldigung” (pronounced Ent-shoe-lee–gung). “Bitte” means “Please” and “Danke” means “Thank you”

Summers are warm, around 70 degrees, and sunny. Fall helps to beat the summer heat with average highs range from 40s to 60s. Winter days are bitter cold, with temperatures in the 30s. Springs tend to be chilly, with highs in the 40s to 60s

Take the city airport train (nicknamed the CAT) to reach Vienna for around 12 Euros for a single trip or ride the Innercityexpress (ICE) for 5 Euros. There are many taxis that will also take you into the city for 30 to 40 Euros

A plethora of buses await travelers to take them around the city or hop on the U-bahn (the subway) or the S-bahn (the regional train). Journey around on a tram or streetcar or take to the streets with a bicycle
